Hatebreed 25th Anniversary TOUR

Hatebreed has been one of the most celebrated hardcore bands in the last 25 years. Featuring extremely motivating lyrics and some of the hardest hitting riffs in hardcore. The band shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon and they’re aiming to be stronger than ever. The 25th Anniversary Tour brings a juggernaut of a tour that will please fans of all genres. Obituary, Terror, Cro-Mags and Fit for an Autopsy are all support on this monster of a tour. You’d be crazy to skip out on something like this.

Hatebreed shows can be described in one word, chaos. This band provides some of the most fun live shows to ever be seen. Whether you’re a fan of Heavy Metal or a die hard fan of Hardcore, expect to be mesmerized. Frontman, Jamie Jasta has not skipped a beat since the band’s inception. It’s a voice that time has been extremely kind to. As he sticks to the same range throughout most of the set, his anguished yells, angry shouts and diminished growls give Hatebreed a fantastic identity in the world hardcore. Meanwhile,  guitarists Wayne Lozinak &  Frank Novinec shred away at some fantastic riffs that truly invoke massive mosh pit action. Bassist Chris Beattie provide a deep and groovy bass section that awaken the senses. Drummer Matt Byrne thrashes away on the drums providing some massive drum patterns that will get you thrashing. Everyone in Hatebreed plays a key role at making sure that all of the live music is tightly crafted for an off the wall experience that’ll get you wanting to mosh at full force. With the 25th anniversary setlist, you can expect to hear a massive catalog of songs that spans all across a very important career. You truly get that when seeing Hatebreed live, massive songs like “I Will Be Heard”, “Last Breath”, “Destroy Everything” & “Seven Enemies” are just chaotic anthems that’ll get you going in the mosh pit. In the best sense of it all. Rob Flynn from Machine Head was also in the audience tonight, the song “A Call for Blood” was dedicated to him. Which is a very Sick tribute.

               Obituary: Photo by Phil Ryabkin

Obituary is one of the most influential death metal bands of all time, for 35 years this group has changed the way we have listened to extremely heavy music with influential albums like “Slowly We Rot” & “Cause of Death”. Obituary is not afraid to slow down their pace with their brooding sound of very angry death metal but they also speed it up a notch every so often. With Obituary on the lineup, they’re truly bringing out more carnage to this lineup and that’s the best way to do. Opening up with the incredibly heavy instrumental “Redneck Stomp” is one way to get your crowd moving ASAP. The pit by far was also the most different when compared to all the other bands on the line, definitely the most traditional one, but it was still an extraordinary heavy mosh pit. Vocalist John Tardy has the most distinct vocals in death metal. With plenty of scowls and shouts to assault concert goers. A sight to behold. The setlist from Obituary was a solid ten songs, featuring a great mix of tracks like “Deadly Intentions”, “Threatening Skies”, “I’m in Pain” & “Straight to Hell” are just some of the songs you’ll be hearing. Its great to see that the pioneer’s of modern death metal are still doing very well.

             Cro-Mags: Photo by Phil Ryabkin

Cro-Mags are ready to tear you open with their full blown frontal assault sound. Mixing the uses of hardcore punk and thrash metal, the Cro-Mags are a band that continues to live up to their legacy, as they gave the sound of hardcore a much more tighter edge. Practically inventing the crossover genre which has inspired groups like Municipal Waste & Power Trip. Cro-Mags had an insane set, which featured staples like “We Gotta Know”, “Hard Times”, “Don’t Tread On Me” & “Show You No Mercy”.  Cro-Mags channeled in a setlist that featured the best that the Cro-Mags have to offer. They channeled in a setlist that really got plenty of fans excited. The mosh pit was pure old school mayhem at its finest. Many tight two stepping rhythms and lots of circle pitting action filled the room. It truly felt like 1984 for the Cro-Mags return.

                Terror: Photo by Phil Ryabkin

Terror is one of the top notch Hardcore bands to come out of the 21st century. Seeing these live is an experience to those who are fans of hardcore. Plenty of fantastic hardcore anthems that will get you psyched up. This band definitely had the mosh pit that truly amped up the most people throughout the whole crowd. Extremely heavy hardcore riffs and very wild mosh pit action filled the entire PlayStation Theater floor throughout the whole show. Terror vocalist Scott Vogel encourages everyone to get up and crowd surf to him as much possible throughout the entire portion of the show. He wanted everyone to move and I believe he truly accomplished that. The setlist was also a solid one, featuring many hits from the band like “Stick Tight”, “Spit my Rage”, “The 25th Hour” & “Keepers of the Faith”. For those looking to see a very energetic new era hardcore band, Terror will give you that fix.

Fit For An Autopsy: Photo by Phil Ryabkin

Fit For an Autopsy is the best band to open up a show like this, these guys have been on an insanely steady grind to play heavy music for so many different people. Their setlist was only six songs long, but I believe they made an incredible impression on the newcomers who didn’t know what to expect and they definitely pleased the fans who came to see them live as well! The mosh pit was a very opened up space when FFAA came on so a few fans got to show off their aggression by taking part in the ruckus early on. The deathcore act did everything they could to warm all the fans up before more of the chaos took place and it honestly felt like a match made in Heaven for the band. They belong on this tour.
