Article: Shinedown live at Beacon Theater 7/24/15
Shinedown… Atlantic Records response to a band I will not witness for a very long time when it comes to a full set. The Beacon Theatre in midtown Manhattan is a beautiful venue and one of THE WORST SHOOTS I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. My tardiness relinquished my privilege to shoot Nothing More, who opened up for Shinedown on this tour and they are BEYOND worth capturing. With photographers being granted access only to stage left, my front view was nothing but speakers and a very very far shot of Brent Smith. Guitarists switched sides to ensure everyone had equal photos but the worst was the drummer. To get the drummer, I had to sneak into the aisle’s only to discover someone put a Nikon D-SLR in front of his face which completely ruined any opportunity to get a great shot. You’ll see what I mean in the photo section. To make matters worse, there was a “hiccup” with my ticket of admission and I was escorted out the building after shooting. WAS NOT happy about this and I know it wasn’t the record label’s fault what-so-ever. I will make damn sure to see Shinedown FULLY when they return to NYC, as long as it is NOT at Beacon. Check out the photos below.
