Iron Maiden‘s current tour is a special one as they pull out all the stops, with nothing but their GREATEST hits on their set-list from a number of classic albums. If you want to catch some classic Iron Maiden songs and hear a few you probably haven’t heard live in ages, then you will not want to miss this tour. Iron Maiden concerts are not only an unforgettable display of timeless musicianship and entertainment, but unify and inspire Heavy Metal and Iron Maiden fans through their own legend. Each song presented individual set changes throughout the performance, usually to reflect the concept of each song. The famed, massive World War II fighter plane centerpiece and Graveyard were just a couple of the main highlights of the concert, and a major treat for photographers shooting this tour. Every centerpiece changed seamlessly at the start of each song. Legendary and renowned Iron Maiden front man, Bruce Dickinson’s costume changes were also consistent with the sets throughout the show to provide fans with maximum concert performance, from a fighter pilot, a war hero, and graveyard keeper. It’s always amazing watching Bruce Dickinson go into a different outfit and completely assume that persona. Even Iron Maiden’s mascot “Eddie”, is never afraid to show up every now and again to help or hinder the band.

Throughout their decades together as a band for about 44 years, Iron Maiden have never skipped a beat at all as Dickinson continues to maintain his vocal strength. There was no doubt about whether he still “had it” or not when he sang their all time classic,”Number of the Beast”. His high pitched shrills, melodic opera styled voice and fascinating war cries did not leave any opportunity for repose in the crowd. Bruce Dickinson vigorously shouting, “Scream for me Brooklyn” had Barclay’s Center shouting back in a massive, rumbling echo that was felt throughout the arena. Founding Iron Maiden member Steve Harris’ groove filled bass lines were echoing anomalies throughout the performance. Harris moved at an extremely quick pace, always knowing how to satiate veteran fans. Being that this is “The Legacy of the Beast” tour, the set list was nothing short of phenomenal. With massive hits like “Run to the Hills”, “The Trooper”, “Fear of the Dark”, “Aces High”, “Two Minutes to Midnight” and “Hallowed be thy Name”, Iron Maiden, throughout their long withstanding career, invoke the power that keeps Heavy Metal alive.

The Raven Age is a modern day heavy metal band which seeks to make a great first impression for fans who showed up early. It is also impressive to note that Steve Harris’s son, George Harris is the guitarist for The Raven Age as well. This makes it all the more inspiring to know that the talent and passion for music and Heavy Metal runs deep in the family. The Raven Age’s metal style is quite similar to that of Trivium or Bullet For My Valentine. There are definitely plenty of traces of Metalcore found within The Raven Age’s music, and of course have incorporated their own style to remain unique. Matt James possesses head turning vocals that can’t be ignored, while George Harris’ heavy, yet calming metal riffs demonstrate the major influence his father Steve Harris has had on him. One can definitely foresee The Raven Age playing for many broader audiences and definitely a band that has the potential to break many different boundaries. Overall, Iron Maiden returned to New York City and surpassed all expectations.

This was probably by far the biggest Heavy Metal tour of the Summer. Iron Maiden is truly one of the most fun and inventive live Metal acts you will ever see and never want to miss when they’re in a town near you. Be sure to check out the rest of the tour dates!
