Nightwish “Decades” Tour 3/14/18
Two hours and 10 minutes… I will say it once more, two hours… and 10 minutes. That is the duration of their set time at Playstation Theater in Manhattan. From the massive visual screen behind them, to the different sections for each band member encompassing the entire stage, this was a Nightwish show that could not be missed. The nearly sold out show proves just how amazing Nightwish is, and not playing NYC in over three years just shows the devotion of their fanbase. Fans and even press members alike were greeted coming off the escalators with free copies of their new compilation album “Decades” a two CD album encompassing music in a 19 year time span. Playing a majority of their Decades album with the exception of songs such as “End of All Hope”, “Come Cover Me”, “Elvenjig”, “Elvenpath”, “The Kinslayer”, and the “Ghost (Love Score)”, the entire auditorium floor became a massive sweatbox of peace, sing alongs, and memories to fans who have heard Nightwish’s songs since creation. Timeless memories for all fans of all ages who enveloped themselves, this was by far one of the greatest shows of 2018, and my very first time seeing Nightwish. It was one for the ages, one for the Decades. For fans, and press alike…..
